Homework 28/11

I gave out a grammar review to those of you who were in class yesterday afternoon. In this review you have to read the theory and then do a couple of exercises. As we haven't covered all the grammar yet you don't have to do the exercises on passive, present perfect continuous or past perfect. 
It's a review you can keep in your folder or staple in your notebook for future reference.

I know some of you would really like to read at home. We will take a book for the christmas holidays but meanwhile I recommend a website called: Oxford owl

Test week 24-28/11

Hello!

 I remind you that next Monday we'll have a grammar and vocabulary test. It will be a summative test so you need to study everything we've studied so far (grammar) and the vocabulary we've seen through the blog (not the one from the text book). 

 - Grammar: Present simple, Present continuous, past simple, Present Perfect (remember time words such as yet, already and since/for and never/ever), future (will/going to), first and second conditionals and relative pronouns. 
 - Vocabulary: education, clothes, travel and transport and decribing people (opinions and feelings + physical appearence) 

Also next week we will do our first PET reading and writing simulacro. 
 Tuesday and Wednesday 6A 
Wednesday and Thursday 6B 
 After this we'll go on a puente :)

For Wednesday: Copy all the vocabulary for expressing feelings and opinions and underline the words you don't know so that you can ask me on Vocabulary day.

6A for Tuesday and 6B for Thursday: Finish off parts 4 from the PET reading and writing part 3 (question 7) .

6/11 (All the homework for this week)

Hello! 
 After doing our first KET practice exam we will start looking at PET tomorrow. You can do some KET listening and reading and writing exercises online too when you've got time. I've put them in the KET/PET section.

 This weekend you have to:
For Monday: Finish off the present perfect worksheet (grammar)
For Wednesday: Copy all the vocabulary for travel and transport. Include the definitions ONLY for the words we saw in class and underline the words you don't know from the rest of the list so that you can ask me on Vocabulary day.
For Friday: Finish off parts 2, 3 from  the PET exam. If you can't see it on the computer at home ask me for a printed version

 

Test WEDNESDAY+ KET

As the results of the test weren't very good in general we will do a short grammar test on Wednesday. 
You have to study the same tenses we studied for the previous test. I will send you by email the short summary I published in the grammar section so you can also read it in PDF at home.

 Tomorrow we will do the first KET Reading and writing simulacro. I will also send it to you by email.

Test on Monday 13/10

On Monday you have the first English test.

 You need to study:

 - Grammar: Present simple, Present continuous, past simple, future (will/going to) and Present Perfect ( remember time words such as yet, already and since/for and never/ever. 
- Vocabulary: Back to school unit (pg 4) Treasure (pg 10), education and clothes from the blog. 


 * You have all you need to know in the worksheets and in  the vocabulary and grammar sections of the blog

 

Vocabulary homework problems 6A

In 6A they had to copy the words down in their noteboks and write down the definitions of the words they didn't know when we started the lesson. The image hasn't been available today so i've uploaded it again. I will also send it to you to your email just in case.


 You have until Tuesday to do it.

 We will have different tasks on the different days of the week in order to ensure that we study everything you need to know before going to secondary school.

 I remind you that the grammar test on units 10, 11 and 12 will be on Thursday. I will give 5B review sheets to do at home tomorrow as they won't have class in the afternoon. You can stud from your notes, textbook, workbook and from the blog.

This weekend you have to study grammar from units 10 and 11 write a story of 100 words starting with the following paragraph:

 Sarah knew the present from her friend was the best one she had ever received...... 

You have to write about what the present was and why it was the best one.

This weekend you have to do workbook pg 91 and start doing the revision activities from the previous unit which are in the www section.

Hi!

For homework you have to finish the worksheet we started in class about indefinite pronouns which had two sides and the PET worksheet. 

 In the PET worksheet (Reading part) you have to match each of the characters with their perfect course. You can only use one letter for each and there will be one left over. In writing part 1 you have to choose the correct option (a, b,c or d) for each gap, there is only one possible answer. In part 2 you have to complete the sentences so that they mean exactly the same as the one they have on top. You have to read the instructions given very carefully and try your best. 

Those of you who didn't come on Friday I will give you the worksheets on Monday.

 This weekend you should make sure you've finished all the exercises because I'll be checking your notebooks this week. Also you should be reviewing the first conditional, the present tense and future with will. I uploaded a few activities in the www section and a simple photo-review in the grammar section.

Writing Homework 5ºB

Hi!

This weekend you have to write a letter to your friend. Remember to take into account the style, grammar, vocabulary, structures and content. It should be around 100 words. You can either do it in your computer and send it by email (in word, PDF or  a similar format). You can do it in your notebooks if you don't have access to a computer or iPad this weekend. Only 5B has to do this. 

5A have to write the letter I said yesterday and which is explained in the next post on this page.

Writing homework 5ºA

In the writing section of the Preliminary English test  (PET) there are three parts. In part 2 you have to write a short message. In your notebooks. 

 Your family is visiting London next month. You have an English pen friend called Zara who also lives in London. You would like to meet here when you go to London. Write an email to Zara. In your email, you should: 

• say when your family is coming to London 
• ask if you can meet up, and suggest a day 
• suggest what you can do together. 

 Write 35-45 words.

Hi everyone!! 
 Last week we went back to school after the christmas holidays. We finished off some things from unit 4 and wrote our own new year's resolutions. I'll be posting a photo of that soon.
